Who are we?...

Our Constitution

This is probably the most important document the Friends of Beacon Rise has.  It sets out the rules and procedures by which the committee members govern the PFA.

"Without the FBR we couldn't have become the Outstanding school we are today.  Beacon Rise thrives as part of the Kingswood community, where pupils, parents and staff come together to create a learning environment full of fun, high aspirations and continued success.  FBR plays a fundamental part in this.  With over £11,000 raised each year through a wide range of engaging and inclusive activities, the resources we have been able to purchase have resulted in us having the best facilities of any school in the local region."

Chris Thomas - Head Teacher

Nicola Dyer

I am a Mum of two boys aged 7yrs and 6yrs old and I work full-time for a national drinks supplier. I have been Co-Chair for two years.

Although I work full-time, I wanted to be involved in fundraising for our School as I hoped it would impact our children's learning at home and at School.  It's definitely has had a positive effect on their achievement as FBR has been able help fund essential learning and play equipment which Beacon Rise might not have been able to afford. I also love the sense of community and teamwork we have created and we work hard to maintain our strong bonds with parents and the School staff.

Laura Young

I work in Palliative care for a large UK charity. My daughter is in her second year at Beaconrise and I have been inspired to join the Friends of Beacon Rise due to my enjoyment of organising events for the benefit of our children.

Charlotte Bendrey

I work in the timber industry as an accounts

assistant and I have two sons at Beacon Rise,

one in year two and the other in Reception.

I am extremely passionate about our School and have been involved in FBR events since my eldest started at the School and have had lots of fun along the way while helping to raise funds and meet new people. I find co-ordinating our FBR events extremely rewarding.

Kirstie Starkey-Gotsell

Vice Chair

I have one son in Y1 and although I work 5

days,  school hours in change management,

it is important for me to be part of my son's

school. I joined FBR in the September my

son started school and have had lots of fun helping to raise money to provide our children with lots of amazing facilities. I highly recommend joining FBR not only to help the school but also for the laughs you will have only the way!

Rebecca Stiby

Vice Chair

I am a part time Nurse and full time mother of 3 children, two who are in Beacon Rise in years 1 and 5. I have been active since our three children moved schools 2 years ago.

Our first child joined the school in year 6, but have found the school  and the FBR welcoming and accepting to all, its been a great to see such collaboration and amazed to see the changes and benfitif the FBR fund raising brings to school and the children.
